Advances in Production Technology of Turmeric

As a part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, a webinar in Hindi was organized by ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research, Kozhikode in collaboration with All India Coordinated Research Project on Spices on 29th November 2021 at 10 am on Advances in Production Technology of Turmeric for the benefit of farmers from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.  Forty- five farmers participated in the programme.
Dr. N. K. Leela Principal Scientist and Hindi Officer, ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research welcomed the participants. Dr. J. Rema, Director, ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research inaugurated the programme. Dr. A. K. Mishra, Scientist, Rajendra Prasad Agricultural University, Dholi, Bihar delivered a lecture on the Production Technology of Turmeric. Disease Management Aspects were dealt by Dr. Pradip Kumar, Scientist, Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Uttar Pradesh. Dr. K. Anees, Scientist, ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research spoke on Processing of Turmeric and Business Opportunities. This was followed by Panel Discussion, in which besides the resource persons the scientists from IISR, Dr. P. Rajeev, Dr. V. Srininvasan, Dr. Lijo Thomas and Dr. Biju C. N. also interacted with farmers. Mrs. N. Prasannakumari, Senior Technical Officer proposed vote of thanks.
